Out of curiosity, how do you handle False SSJ?
I would assume its having enough need/rage for the form, but not quite having the power.

You can basically think about it working as if the transformations are triggered by different kinds of rage.Β
False Super Saiyan is more like "I want to kill you", while regular Super Saiyan is more akin to "I need to kill you".

Current classification would be "summarized fanfic", with goals of making a manga sometime in the future.

"Summarized fanfic" as in the summaries of the characters are the encyclopedia, and therefore the story? In which case, you should make a very intentional set of stories that is set in this universe, but really highlights the twist you bring with some new elements. Not saying what you should and shouldn't do, just a thought. I really like this story!

No, "summarized fanfic" as in I am actually writing each arc out in detail elsewhere: [link] I just don't bother to include dialogue, so it's not like a proper story/book/novel/whatever, it's more like a summary of the events.
I've thought about making it a proper fanfic release, but various fans have different interpretations of the characters depending on the version they watched. Personally, I like the Japanese version, but not everyone would enjoy me bringing his Japanese quirks into the story and having him talk like this: "Whaccha mean 'Kakarotto'? I'm Son Goku! An' I was born an' raised here on Earth, so getch'yer ass off muh planet ya bastard!"

Yes, Slug is on Namek. Best, and only place to put him. His movie places him before Goku obtained SS. Goku is dead for a year after Raditz, and then everyone sets off for Namek shortly after Vegeta's battle. Works out nicely IMO anyway, which is good since I don't want to make him 50 times stronger to squeeze him in somewhere else.
