Description My Queens Champion tournament gown. Based off a portrait of italian lady from 1550. This photo was taken right before I put the final closures on the bodice but I was so excited that it was a GOWN I had to take a pic. You can see the detailing on it in this photo easier as well.

Gown is made from *VERY* expensive vestment brocade lined in white silk with red pin tucked silk sleeves. The partlet / collar is of sheer white with woven gold designs in it. Ruffle is made of same with metallic gold bobbin lace on the edge that also matches the edging on the ruffs at my wrists. There is an underskirt as well which is a very light gold with more gold metallic trim around the bottom edge to make sure the hoops don't show through the overskirt. The gown also has hand applied crystals on each crown in the brocade!

Oh, yeesh. Yeah, I've looked at similar vestment fabric and wept many bitter tears (and I don't even need that much to do Byzantine!). That being said, this is AWESOME and gorgeous (and I am totally fighting calling you Your Majesty right now), and all the other photos of you in it just make me feel so inspired to try and do fibre arts. Again. (yeah, not my forte.)

Thank you! The brocade fabric retails for $110 a yard.

It's very beautiful, though I don't think I will be using it anytime soon. It's nice to see that someone has the dedication to buy good fabrics for their projects.

Oh I wasn't suggesting you buy it & I certainly don't have any I'd be willing to part with. I try and use the best materials I can find for my projects; they just come out better and last longer!
