I think, now, that the reason why children are the way they are is because they stand with their faces pressed up against the microwave. You know you've done it. We all have: waiting to see the cheese melt, seeing how big the marshmallow will get.... or my personal favorite - seeing which jewelry throws a spark or two.
It's got to be having some kind of negative effect. When I was younger, I would shut off the microwave and let it sit for a minute or two. Why? My cousin made me believe the radiation would jump out and get me. In the night.
