Sinja was among the first cards I painted for LightCon Media and has become something of a star for the setting, appearing in 'Exposรจ 6' by Ballistic Publishing, in 'Faeries Artbook n. 1' by Nestiveqnen Editions (in French) and in ImagineFX n. 29.This pensive mage is portrayed inside one of Topia's characteristic tree-houses.

The skin is painted beautifully! The hair is shaded very well too. Those wings are incredible, how did you do them?

First of all, excuse me for the delay in answering, I had a couple of commssioned works on a deadline.
For the wings, I first decided the kind of wing I wanted (dragonfly)and studied them (I'm building a library of reference books on...almost everything really. Insects, minerals, birds, mammals, ethnic and ancient jewerly...). Then I created a custom brush to build the wing structure, that done I painted several very transparent layers, each in a different nuance of the main light to obtain a sort of prismatic effect, and experimented with layer properties until I was satisfied with the result, adjusting the various elements to make the whole armonic (selective adding of color and /or erasing, for instace).
