Well I wanted to try some digital painting and see if that's fun. And what better to try it on with my favourite sailor senshi ^_^ I realized I never really did a dedication to her so here it is. I absolutely adore Neptune and I wanted to be just like Michiru when I was little. I confess it's why I started playing the violin.
Digital painting is MUCH harder than CG but I really like the result more but that's just me ^_^ Oh yeah and some of you might be wondering why her hair is so long. In the manga it's MUCH longer than the anime as seen here:

Kinda like me, I started to take up violin lessons at school so I could be like Michiru. Though I kinda stopped because it hurt my arms XD

Okay, so one big problem I'm seeing is that you use the highlight color way over where it's in dark shadow. You shouldn't do that. See on the skirt? On the left, you shouldn't highlight it so much. Highlighters are just for where there is harsh light. See what I'm saying?
I'm really liking the use of blue as your lineart. adds to the effect. <3 and I love the background, too. it looks so calm and magical <3 I have to say, also, that these are my favorite eyes of yours I've ever seen you draw. <3
Good use of different tones and shades as your shading, I'm seeing that her skin and skirt look GREAT in terms of color. You should probably blend her legs more, though, they don't look like they have much shape to them. Also, her left leg. It shouldn't have such deep shadows. Same thing with the skirt, but just the opposite. It's closer to the light; it doesn't need that much shade.
I'd use darker shades where her hair is covering her forehead, by the way, too.

Her pose is really awkward, though. Her left(HER left) arm looks way too long because her left shhoulder is hunched. drop the shoulder and it' perfect.
Also the bones in her right wrist, I think they poke out too much. It's a little distracting.
I think the inside of her skirt should be showing, on her right side you know? Hard to explain... see what I mean?
I really adore the use of color in this one, you're improving! Hope this helps.

You should really try sketching some realistic girls to get the anatomy down. You don't even have to post them, but it would really help, I think.

Haha true. Just most of the time when I'm not drawing anime, I draw animals as concepts for children's books. To be honest I don't really take anime too seriously. I only do it because it's fun

Thank you ^_^ I just try to mix different colours. With blues for example you can do a nice combination with aqua for the base colour, indigo for the deep colour, and seafoam green for the highlights. I hope that somewhat helps. I'm 20 years old.
