Description
Starting with a medium resolution image of the book cover seen in the film, I first painted out all the text, then formatted the image for a square aspect ratio. I then set John Carpenter's name in the Sutter Cane typeface by custom building the J, O, H, and P from existing letterforms, then filled in the blanks with the letters already shared by the two names. I overlaid a distress texture and, lastly, I used a closely resembling font for the Jim Lang and the soundtrack recording credits below the "author" and title. Doesn't sound like much; however, it was a few hours of Photoshop to pull it all together. As always, I work for my own enjoyment; however, if you find what I've done suitable for display in your own digital jukebox, perhaps I've made something for you as well.
