I'm just now taking your advise on comparing the color in the print, to the pic on the moniter...NOTHING alike.
Time for me to start making adjustments!
Thanks for the suggestion!

How gripping. That's first thing I thought of when I veiwed this fully. The emotional impact it has is staggering, dare I say it, it should be illegal. Lol. Jk. Nothing this beautiful should be illegal. The meanings I see are the concept of a parent or adult caring for the young, emotional support, fraility and strength and the list goes on. I also feel a sense of warmth, despite the tint being blue. I think the tinting takes away from the photograph just a bit, I would have liked to see a warmer tint to emphasize those feelings or perhaps just straight black and white. Nevertheless, this is a worthwhile photograph. Excellent work.

How absolutely beautiful is that?!? A real classic shot.
You know, you say having had to use photoshop for the toning makes you think you cheated: well, this of course is a discussion that will never end. I am not a great photographer and I am just learning to use a camera myself. But I have been working in the industry and for one, I do know when a photograph is good and strong (even if I may not be able to create them myself), and two: I know what can be done in a traditional darkroom. And toning is certainly one of these things. And beeing used by any traditional film photographer all the time.
You seem to be into portraits, too. If you don't mind, I'll give you a link to the page of my friend Werner, who I worked for when still living in Europe. Take a look sometime and keep in mind: Absolutely nothing he does is computer generated. It's all darkroom and manual manipulations, if he uses them at all. [link]
And back to this photograph: gush and gush some more. It's gorgeous.
