Part 6: She’s in a temper!!

Cody held up a disk that read “Rock Smash” on it, and then looked at Rosie.
“Well, it’s a fighting type move…” Cody muttered. “And I don’t want Din learning it… But how do I use it?” Rosie then snatched the disk from his hands and bit down on it.

Rosie learned Rock Smash!

“Um… okay.” Cody said. “Now that you know something useful…” He continued to lug Rosie through the dark, damp tunnels of the coal mine. He had heard a million times how dangerous coal mines where, and to be honest he felt like his heart was going to pound out of his chest any minute. I took my medication today… I’m safe… The boy gritted his teeth and -
“OUTTA THE WAY, TWERP!” A hand hit his chest and he slammed back into a wall. All he caught was a blur of pink, black, and white. Grace!
“H-hey, wait!” He called weakly, his lungs being crushed by the weight of Rosie. He garbled a few commands before she rolled off of him, and he sat straight up, gasping for air. “C-crap!”
“I’m sorry.” Rosie said, barely audible.
“We lost her…” Cody groaned. Din popped out of his scarf again.
“Nice going, moron.” The Chimchar muttered.
“Din…” The boy sighed, but he quickly caught sight of a man walking towards him.
“Are you alright?” He asked. He had light brown hair the curled up at the ends, a hard hat, glasses, and tough clothing fit for a miner.
“Yeah, I just got pushed over…” Cody stood up, moving to pick up Rosie. The man picked up the Geodude without effort, and held her towards the boy. Cody returned her to her Pokeball.
“The girl, I presume?” He asked. “She got way too impatient about getting her badge…”
“You mean you’re the Gym Leader?” Cody’s jaw fell open in shock. “A-And I need to talk to that girl!”
“Yes, I’m Roark.” Roark chuckled a little, rubbing the back of his neck. “I can try and stop her long enough to talk…”
“Thank you!” Cody cried, bowing his head.
