My half of a trade with , who has apparently existed for quite some time and I'm frankly a little annoyed that nobody alerted me to this fact sooner. Upon finding out that her interest in this couple was something akin to mine, I grabbed her by the ankle and wouldn't let go until she agreed to trade with me.She asked for something piratey (arrr) which I was only too happy to provide.
Minnie's hat doesn't make an ounce of sense. My story is that she took a random old pirate hat that was laying around and stuck a bunch of crap on it to give it "a woman's touch". Whatever the case, she and her hat were headed overboard, and of course, Pirate Captain Mickey couldn't allow that to happen. Minnie approves of his aeriel damsel-catching skills and was considering planting one on his face, but realizes that doing so might cause him to let go of the rope. How he's going to climb back up that rope with one free hand is his problem. It's okay, though, because Minnie can wait.

(Oh, and before anybody mentions the skull-and-crossbones, I stole it from a real costume - from TDS, I think. I'm not that clever.)

This drawing tells it all. I love it when Mickey is recuing Minnie when she's stuck in her room

The damsel in distress, the heroic pirate. Nothing gets better than an epic adventure with everyone's favorite mice. It's adorable and quite charming.

I was just about to go to bed when I decided to check my dA one last time and MAN I am so glad that I did!
THIS. IS. SO. PERFECT.
I don't even know where to begin. I just love every detail of it, right down to Minnie's little spitcurl! I think I definitely love the snuggly pose and the darling expressions the most. I just can't get enough of 'em! I'm gonna be squeeing forever over this.
The colors and the texture of the piece are all just breathtakingly beautiful, too! And what'chu talkin' 'bout, TML? Minnie is rocking that hat. And of course I love her gown - off the shoulder FTW! All the choices you made are just lovely. <3
And Captain Mickey'll definitely find a way up that rope. The guy's a pro, I'm tellin' ya. But yeah, if Minnie decides to give him a little sugar we could have a problem. At least he's focused for now. xD

Don't even worry about not being done, for reals. I do usually work fast, especially when inspiration strikes - but if I was worried about finishing first, I could have sat on my hands. Take as much time as you need; contrary to appearances, I am in no rush.
