"Can't we delay it for one more day? Lawk needs to be there. He deserves to say goodbye."

"He needs time. But we need to call the Spirits to shepherd their souls."

"....Give him until tomorrow morning. I'll wait here, until he's ready."

I was in the mood to draw some sad back story for my characters (as you do) and I thought this would be a great time to try out my toned paper! For my first attempt, I really like how this turned out. ^_^

Anyway, this is when Lawk's parents died defending their tribe from the Invaders when he was about 5. Traumatized, he ran into a crevasse and stayed there for a day and a half. Uncle Riles (who is also grieving his brother and sister in-law) tried and failed to get him out, so now he waits for Lawk to come out so they can have the funeral.

I might draw two more pages to depict how this scene ends!
