XD Thanks to this, I've developed a habit of gently playing scales or classical music after I see a kid slam a piano. XD

NEVER leave an eight - year old alone with a string instrument. After failing to play it She CUT the strings in half. With safety scissors. I have no idea how she did it, but I was horrified. (luckily, I had a spare set ...)

I know! The little kids have the excuse of not knowing any better, but a MUSIC TEACHER... It should be illegal!

My school seems to be a haven for instrument abuse ... In one of the art rooms there is a bent up trumpet that my art teacher personally bashed with a hammer to make it more interesting to draw.
I honestly wanted to steal it from the shelf and give it a hug. (that is your fault, btw)

Ooh, that means Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Instruments, right?
Don't take the bus. It's worse. It's an Instrument Lover's worst nightmare. I was just sitting there, ignoring everyone else and wondering if bagpipes come in fractional sizes, when someone's VIOLIN flew past my head, fell out of the case, clattered down the stairs (said bus was a double - decker) and was deliberately stood on.
I also have been targeted by the music - haters. They shredded some of my sheet music (it was just a piece that I got from string group about a year ago, luckily)and one of them threw a golf ball at my cello. (I have no Idea what he thought a golf ball was gonna do ...)

I tried to play a piano when I was 6, using only four keys and actually remembering which one made what noise. Does that count?

if you're not banging random stuff, i think it might just be uncomfortable touching

What about playing 'Cheaters piano'?
in case you don't know what I mean, that's when you mark both the keys and the notes on the music, and just match the letters. I do that all the time, because my only instrument is Cello and I can't read treble clef. ( I'll gradually remove the letters once I can remember the notes and keys ...)

versus when people get an electric piano to play a demo song and move their fingers randomly? haha, I don't think that;s as bad, my friend taught her little sister piano starting with that technique until she learned treble. It's not too hard if you can read sheet music, just need to get used to where the notes are

Also,my mom would think it was very strange if I asked for a piano, some masking tape and a sharpie at random.
By the way .. what effect would it have on a string itan ( was that grammatically correct?) if one of their strings snapped? That happens to my cello much to often and I want to check that it's not psychologically traumatized or anything ... god I'm weird...

well, the strings are the source of a strings instrument's voice, so losing a string would temporarily destroy part of their vocabulary. the impact would feel like a charlie horse, but in the chest
agh, that sounds painful ):

I don't know the Piano but I know the Violin. So when I attempt to play the Piano it's better than banging away because I can keep on rhythm and guess which note is which. Is that still considered rape or light rape? XD

Cellists are like that too.
My school string group had 10 cellists and roughly 40 violinists. We kept getting told to play quieter so we wouldn't drown the violinists too much and stop people noticing them XD

*spits drink* wow, uh... let me count the members in our concert band.
4 flute
2 clarinet
4 alto sax
3 tenor sax
3 bass instruments
2 trumpets
2 mallets
4 percussion
=
24...
Our Jazz ensemble is even smaller, but that's understandable.
