Description My first real try in Photoshop... I don't have any idea what the background is o.0
Well, I suck at backgrounds anyway, so I have to practice more. Atleast Lu looks like he's enjoing his flight >.>
Btw all I hear for quite some time from my friends and father is that my style is really childish T^T so can someone tell me what is a "mature style" and how do I get there? Thank you beforehand and don't worry to be death honest with me Q3Q I'll take it.

I like his mane - looks real good here.
His coat colour compliments it well.

The background really doesn't look that bad - you have a nice choice of colours.
Clouds are hard to draw, too , and waves are not easy either!

The only thing I would critique here would be the composition -
the image doesn't seem to be focused on the main character.
That's something you've improved on in your recent artworks though .

You're very welcome!

Yeah, I have a lot of respect for them too XD.

Practise makes perfect of course .
I know backgrounds take ages, but I'm sure you
can do great if you put in the time!

Don't listen to your friends and dad. Your style is your style, it doesn't matter what it looks like. What's important is making your art the way you want to, not what everyone else wants. If they aren't happy with it, tell them they can just draw what they want themselves
I don't even know what a 'mature' or 'childish' style looks like, unless they're just talking about realistic vs. cartoonish. However, cartoonish doesn't mean childish and realistic doesn't mean mature, and the fact that that dichotomy exists is dumb.

If you want a more realistic style because YOU want it (and not because people are telling you to get it), there are lots of great anatomy tutorials and references both on and off dA. You can also work from photographs, too. I can't point to any specific ones, but just exploring around and finding stuff that helps you is probably better anyways.

First - thank you sooo much for writing me such a long detailed comment, regarding my problem, I deeply appreciate it
Second - Thank you very much for the kind words, they are really motivating! >w< Btw I also thought about realistic <-> cartoonish and I'm thinking of trying a more realistic style and I don't think anatomy is my only problem T^T , there are also shadows, light and so on. But the only thing to do is just practice and try again and again I guess...

Aw, no problem I'm glad I could help!
Yeah, there is more than anatomy, though I do think it's one of the more noticeable ones - people are more likely to see things wrong with anatomy than with lighting or shading, so it's not a bad place to start. Don't be afraid to just dick around and have fun with experimenting. And of course practicing always helps
