Interested in getting a cute design from me, but don't have the funds to pay for my regular adopts? Well, good news - I've set up a gacha machine! Put in two quarters and test your luck; no matter the outcome, you'll end up with a cute design from me! (Author's note: please dont actually input two quarters, as I am unable to take USD - points only, please!)
How does it work?
Below is a list of my species (that are available from Gacha Adopts) and a list of themes. Leave a comment below asking to purchase a gacha (DO NOT ask for a theme, as the theme will be automatically given to you!) and I'll ask you to send the points. Send me 50 points and once I verify your purchase, I will give you a species and a theme. Within the next few weeks, your design will be posted and you'll have a brand new design to add to your collection!
In case you're wondering about the inner workings of this machine; the themes are completely randomly generated. Species, meanwhile, are selected either at random like the themes OR selected based on ideas I have for the design.
For an extra 50 points, you can select your species - however unfortunately there is no way to choose your theme. (If you really want a specific theme, talk to me about customs and I'm sure we can work something out! C: ) The point is to be a cheap and fun way to get designs that you might not've thought you would like otherwise; not a way to get a cheaper-than-normal custom!

Important edit: yes, you CAN get non-CS designs as well! Regular animals/mythical animals can be used for the designs but they can only be obtained with the "chosen species" package, meaning they cost double.

Tbh that's actually going to be really fun to play with - I love themes that don't necessarily go along with their species being made into something that really works xD I actually really like camels and while I had no idea how I'd incorporate them into a design, I was just like "eh screw it, I like camels" so it'll be fun lmao!

Hey there! I saw Luritaurs, and I love them?? They're super cute and I'd be super interestd in joining the species! Would they count as a 'Chosen Species' since they aren't on the list?

Unfortunately, Luritaur are not part of the gacha adopts species - sorry! ;; They actually do not belong to me; I'm simply a guest artist and the founder of the group they reside in, and their actual owner (that I'm collaborating on the group with) is hui-bo .
I do take customs for Luritaurs though, if you're interested in paying some extra for them ^^ the price can be found here:

+ simple animation (IE the bobbing in most of the examples) - 100 points

They're towards the bottom of the journal though so to save you the trouble of looking, a base rarity custom is 1000 points. Other rarities cost more, but you'll still get a nice-looking Luritaur with the base traits! ^^
Otherwise there are a few MYO slots floating around; I'm not positive if they're allowed to be traded or not so I'd have to ask hui-bo or not, but you could always put up a journal in the group asking to trade for one? We don't encourage people to beg specific people for designs or MYO slots, but "Looking For" journals are totally allowed! ^^
And if you're willing to wait a little while, I can ask hui-bo about OTAs and DTAs. I've actually been wanting to do more DTAs and I think a Luritaur would be really good for a DTA contest! I'd need to discuss with them first though, of course.
We also have several open species in our group that hui-bo designed! They're really cute and have a nice style about them, just like Luritaurs, so you could always make one of those instead! ^^

I hadn't thought of that before, but yeah, I think I can do that! : D however since it wouldn't be a randomly generated animal it would count as a "chosen species" gacha (that doesn't mean you have to select a specific animal if you just want a non-cs design, but it would keep me from randomly generating a closed species of mine) so it'd be 50 points for this event, or 100 points normally. Alternately I suppose you could buy a regular gacha and ask me to void it once its been designed (which btw, I dunno how common it is for cs owners to judge people for voiding designs, but I don't mind in the slightest; its your design, and you're free to do what you want with it!) and you could redesign it to look more like a real animal afterwards, but that's more work xD

ALSO not to go on a tangent (but im going on a tangent lmao) but the possessiveness CS owners have over their designs really...bothers me. I kinda get being possessive/protective over your species name, and I'm not really in support of "anti-CS" movements even if the designer is a shithead (open species ripoff species that take a CS and improve upon it I kinda get, but making adopts that look identical to CS is just a way to cash off of other people's stupidity and/or desperation and that's...really shitty imo), but...CS owners go to extreme lengths sometimes over minor misdemeanors nd it just kinda sucks. If someone paid for your design, especially if they spent hundreds of dollars on it, they should be able to do whatever they want with it within reason? I'm uncomfortable with nsfw of my designs (like I AM a minor...I wont be in a year but for the time being I can still use that as an excuse //SHOT) but none of them are designed to be sexual in any way, but that's really my most extreme rule - and even then, I'm not gonna revoke your design for that, I'll just void it if I'm really uncomfortable with it but even then I probably wont even void it. My rules in my species are simple; don't make your own without permission, don't cause drama in the group, don't do illegal things, and don't game the system by reselling adopts for more (& we allow exceptions for extra art, so long as the admin are consulted first). We only revoke designs when the person is a scammer (IE they don't actually own the design anymore) and we cant come to an agreement with the people who were scammed, in which case we'll reimburse both/all members equally as best we can. I don't understand people who revoke designs for accidents/blowups in the group, or ban people for personal disagreements, or blacklist people for voiding designs. Nobody should be FORCED to participate in your group, and you should be happy that they wanted to pay money for your art. I mean you weren't pointing a gun to their head saying "BUY MY DESIGNS" or anything either, but still, it just seems spoiled and needlessly petty. And if you're worried about loosing track of the design or having people use it against your wishes, first of all your design TOS should still apply even after voiding, and secondly you could always just...ask the person to keep you updated about the design? Idk man. CS owners really should be more mature, like I know people are people but you cant act like a god-like authority figure and be flawed and not expect people to call you out for that. //shrugs// I try to find a happy medium between being a good, understanding species owner and also acting like a fucking moron 24/7 so people are hopefully comfortable coming to me when I fuck up, but hopefully I don't fuck up in the first place xDD

And aaaaa thank you!! but honestly same tho; when I got that theme and species combination I was like "yessss" because I love designing Maskbirds and I have so many good ideas for the sugar cookie design...I probably could've made like 3 different Sugar Cookie listings and each one would look different tbh, but that seemed excessive since I already had four cookie types listed on there //SHOT// idk I just have a lot of feelings about Christmas cookies, they're like one of my favorite parts of the holidays and I love helping my dad make and decorate them~
yEAH idk its just kind of a problem with putting people in positions of power over other people in general. The same reasons that lead to CS owners abusing their power and thus people getting hostile to the concept of CS is the same reason people get mad at parents, politicians, and police officers. Granted the worst a CS owner can do is rip you off and maybge make a callout post? but I digress lmao. But like, it's the same toxic mindset that people in power IRL have where they automatically think they're right and not only that but have the power to enforce their will upon anyone who disagrees.
