As a fellow pencil artist, I can really appreciate the quality of this drawing, you really captured the essence of Mel Gibson's face. It was instantly recognisable from the thumbnail view and even more impressive up close. Braveheart (CorazΓ³n Valiente here in Ecuador) is one of my all-time favourite films (historical inaccuracies aside).
As regards the comment on the impossibility of his being able to give the famous 'freedom cry', there are some variables that need to be taken into consideration; while it is true that being disemboweled (i.e. severing the abdominal muscles, etc...) would ordinarily make it very difficult to talk, let alone cry out, if the diaphragm were not severed, it could still be theoretically possible to make some noise based on air passage alone; also, many people, when in mortal danger, could experience an adrenaline rush which would temporarily negate, to some degree, the amount of pain being felt in the moment. Still, this is pure conjecture, but food for thought.
