I want to write a single poemThat can paint a stunning scene
Capture the beauty of a rose
Or portray an angst-filled scream
The lines will flow, unfurling
With new ideas and dreams
The poem will ignite emotions
The poem will have no seams
It will outline your anguish
What defines your woes?
What sometimes makes you cry?
What’s your secret – and who knows?
The poem will make you wish again
What was your childhood hope?
What was it that you wanted so?
And without it did you cope?
It will help you to remember
Of how you forever felt
That love would one day find you
How love made your heart melt
The poem will also tell you
If your life got ripped apart
It’s never too late to chase a dream
Or to mend a broken heart
The poem will make you smile
Remember who you adore?
It will teach you to have faith
There’s always something to be thankful for
The final verse will remind
Those who seem to forget
To follow their cherished dreams
And never ever to regret
