Adelaide laughed nervously after admitting what's been on her mind after the storytime "I'll just um... go then. Don't wanna burden you with my feelings when I'm sure you're already stressed enough about all of it too"She turned to leave, having every intention of fleeing before he could comment further, but he grabbed her wrist before she could get far.
"...Friends are supposed to listen to each other, right?" He said quietly. She turned back to him and threw her arms around him again.
"So many things are happening so fast, John, I'm scared-" She admitted, her voice shaking as she cried. Startled, he hesitantly hugged her back and patted her head. Not sure of what to do, he let her cry a bit more before finally speaking again.
"It's- going to be okay"
Even though he said that, nothing was certain at all. He had no real idea that things we're going to be "okay", not in this crazy mansion. This sudden information about... Masterpieces, whatever they are, if that alone was enough to cause an argument that heated, who knows how bad it would be when more of the mansion is found?
"You're right. You're definitely right. You have to be right"
...No, it wasn't correct to say everything was uncertain. Just like Adelaide, people were scared whether they admitted it or not. He couldn't do much about that other than provoke them, maybe but...
He looked at Adelaide, still crying a little, and reluctant to let go of him.
...At least he could hug her and offer some comfort. This was... what friends do, right...?
As a side note, this actually happened after the CH4 argument for those who didn't realize it earlier HAHAAHAHAH
YOOOOO I'VE WANTED TO DRAW THIS SCENE FOR SO LOOOOONG-- the pose is difficult hhh so I tried doing a little experiment with Addy's hair instead- and.... it ended up being a lot more lines than expected? >W> I messed up inking more than once here.... I'm p happy with this though~
If anything I feel like I drew Addy better than my own son gdi
...I wonder if I should skip Inktober today
