The star Narada was named by ancient peoples after a mythological sage of the heavens who was worshipped for his knowledge. For eons it was invoked by ancient scholars and philosophers to guide them to the answers they sought. I don’t know much about the Hindu texts where the name is derived from, unfortunately, but I know enough to understand the irony of this extraordinary event: today, Narada fell out of the sky and we’ve discovered it wasn’t a star at all, but an ancient construct placed in the sky by our forefathers for reasons we don’t yet know. This brings up many questions: Are there more like Narada? Are they trying to communicate? Will they fall to earth as well? Why did Narada come back? What did they find?
