For how I did it, I just copied the image into paint, then made it smaller and made it show the grid. That's a pretty easy way to pixelate it. Then it's just a matter of finding the right block for each colour and changing a couple of details where necesarry. It wasn't very hard really :3

Sometimes obvious ideas are overlooked the first. The biggest challenge is finding the proper block for each colour and making sure the pixelart resembles the original the best. For example, the left eye was 1 block lower in the paint version, but the original showed them at the same height. So you gotta play around with the blocks a bit and see what looks best. But yeah, in essence really simple.

If I were you, I would look online for texture packs specifically for that one character. That's what I do. It may be hard, but it sooo much easier in the end. Don't get upset the the other one's that aren't applied to the one it's set to don't look right. Just re apply them and take a screen shot. It's what I did for my first pixel art. [link]

mhm, that's an idea. I think I'll stick to making in the default texture pack or dokucraft though, even though it might be a little harder. Just a matter of preference, thanks for the tip though
