Description ...waiting for the waters to recede...

It hasn't stopped raining. The water level is rising, the yard is a pond, and the clock on the wall is still stopped at 7:51.
The sound of the water pounding the windows infiltrated my dreams - all night long I was underwater waiting for those small, inevitable mutations.
