Thatβs how I imagine an elven forest. Mysterious passages, reminding rather a temple than a forest and awesome creatures. Deers in woods are quite a normal part of the wildlife but in this picture its presence seems to make the surrounding more surreal.Related content

This is really beautiful and has a lovely feel to it.
For me, it represents far more than your description suggests. This picture has a dream like quality to it or visionary maybe and the stag represents some kind of symbolic meaning. Something like Carl Jung's symbols of the collective unconscious, or maybe something like a Native American vision quest with spirit animal and such. To me this represents enlightenment of some kind, or the arrival of some spirit guide, or maybe connecting with some force of nature.
It's not just the image of the woods and the deer but the way it's lit from behind and not above. Also the bluish color has a purple tint to it which has an association, with visions and the minds eye chakra in eastern spiritualism.
As for your techniques its excellent your anatomy looks spot on, and your use of light and shadow is equally well executed.
