Yesterday: no measurable snow, roads caked with salt.
Locale: New Brighton, NYC. The salt pile is located in a poor neighbourhood of New York City where the locals are not organised to fight against airborne irritants that cause asthma and other respiratory issues. The owner of an auto body shop in the area complained to me that he'll detail a car and 15 minutes later it's covered with a film of salt.
