I did it because of the scales xD they're fun to do, and not really hard, just time consuming sometimes.
Thankyou!

I just love his /her grin. very nicely done
min wage varies on your age as you obviously know, i tend to charge a fiver an hour plus costs of paints ect. for some reason i found people happer to pay that when i explianed than upping my wage, so i pick up the slack in materials (that said paints have gone up damn them).

thankyou! Understandable. I'm just using pencil and digital paint.. so I can't really use that as an excuse xD

Ah damn that is a point, but its a shame that its so hard to get a decent price for what you do. the work is worth it.

Thankyou D: and yeah, I begin to not see the point in commissions if I'm getting something even less than £2 an hour, when my shitty job at Subway pays twice that.

ouch, i get that. you could consul yourself that each commision is basicly doing somthing you love, and if its not somthing you would normaly do,consider it good pratice that your getting payed for. untill you go onward and upwards and can start charging what your work is realy worth.

Yeah. I always saw it like that otherwise. And it's nice to see people appreciate what you've made for them.

It's really very difficult to work for minimum wage or above. I tried that once and got...one mini commission. ONE. I can get about twenty if I charge $7 flat rate for mini commissions.
It's just difficult to do, hence why I intend t go into the art industry where they are legally obligated to actually pay miminum wage or above.
Just out of curiosity, how long did my Io pic take you?

I know what you mean Dl I suppose also because alot of the people on DA just don't seem to have money.
Uhmmm..., probably a little longer than this one, but not by much. I still can't believe I drew most of that on a double decker bus.

People here are VERY tight-fisted with money. It's so much easier at conventions. I can charge pretty exorbitant prices and people are still ready and willing to buy prints.
You're just talented like that XD I cannot draw in the car to save my life. It's awful. I can usually draw while in flight, but there's always turbulence at exactly the wrong moment.

I've never been to a convention o: maybe this is something I need to try out.
xD I think I was just fortunate with regards to traffic jams and people wanting to get on/off the bus alot. I took those moments to draw more lines. Drawing on the plane would be easier. But, I never had ideas on planes, for some reason. They were always art block moments :I

Conventions are great fun if you have friends and things to do. Unfortunately for me, all the conventions I REALLY want to go (Comic Con, E3, Gallifrey One, the Steampunk Ball, MetroCon, etc.) to are way too far away for me D: Most of the good stuff is on the West coast. It's a PAINNNN
Even so, doesn't the bus's motor make the whole thing vibrate? That makes it hard to draw, at least for me :/

ahh, see, there's only really one place to go for conventions here, and that's London. ( although I can bet we don't get as many diverse and interesting ones as America )
You'd have thought so.. maybe I just got lucky :l, thankfully I don't have to go on that god forsaken bus anymore.

How long did it take you ? I mean it's nice and all, a truly interesting perspective, but it's almost nothing compared to the other things you've previously accomplished.
it ain't bad in any way, but I'm curious how much time / interest you've spent on this one. Then again, I think it's the first dragon I ever see from you.
The tail is interesting, and that eye looks like something Shen would do.
Entertaining.

I'm guessing it took about 5ish hours ( AS SAID IN THE ARTIST COMMENTS ), I've got many dragons in my gallery O: I don't take.. a huge amount of interest in them, but I like drawing them. I had fun with the perspective on this too.

It's the sloped snout. And the combination of the horns and the markings make it really look like rat ears on the thumbnail.
