Please click Download at the left to see the full image.This was part of the final from one of my classes. We were assigned to redesign a Disneyland attraction. The goal was to affect the guests' mind in the opposite way that the original ride did. I got the teacups.
It was almost too easy. The teacups are a safe, moderately exciting family-fun ride. Se we decided that the opposite would be to make it, well, unnerving. No biggie. I immediately pointed out the lovely American Mcgee's Alice as an influence, and off we went.
My part of the project was to redesign the characters for the ride. I picked the Hatter (obviously), Alice, and the Caterpillar.
These first three I kept at least reminiscent of their Disney designs. The Caterpillar was very fun. He ended up somewhere between a sad clown, and an aging drag queen.

The mad hatter is awesomely drew by you! You didn't change anything in his face to make him look... "sexier" . "Au contraire" you exaggerated his face and he looks so much more realistic!

I love both of the versions! They're unnerving in a wonderful wonderful way. ...Of course, Alice in Wonderland has always been a little bit frightening anyway. ^.^ Great job as always, though. I'm gonna fave them both.

I really, really like this Alice, even more than the darker version in the other picture, I think. The way you've made her sort of off-kilter and creepy without adding much that's traditionally dark is very clever - just something in the sway of her pose and the look in her eyes gets across everything you really need to, and that's awesome.
