Description A stingray circles
In the water warm.

Why he circles so,
In the lucid lake,
I fear to fathom.

Without guile he glides
Yet purpose unplain.

His stinger supple,
His body boneless,
His smooth flesh aflame
With brown like blood dried.

Circling silently
About my boat frail.

Is he brainless beast,
His wont to wander,
Or fearful firebrand,
Bringing baleful cries,
And hate, to harmless?

Now, as circling ceases
I'm roused from wrathful dream.
