Description "Dragons are an especially hardy breed. There isn't a corner of the earth that their kind hasn't inhabited."

The Tizheruk are a species of Dragon that live within the Frozen Sea to the North. They can reach estimated lengths of up to 120 feet. These large sea serpents are covered in a thick skin, layered beneath by blubber, rather than the usual scales one would expect from a Dragon. This is a necessary adaptation for the Tizheruk to survive in the sub-zero temperatures of the Frozen Sea. Another adaptation that has helped the Tizheruk flourish in such an inhospitable environment is the evolution of specialized gills which can heat up to extreme temperatures, passing heat down through the Tizheruk's serpentine body. Their fins are also capable of heating their body, as they act as collectors of solar heat during the "warmer" parts of the year.

Beyond this, little else is known about the day-to-day habits of the Tizheruk, as the remote location of their habitat and the difficulty of actually seeing one in nature has made study of them rather difficult.

What can be noted, is their rare, but frightening interactions with mankind. Despite the utterly terrible environment, there are small tribes of hardy people who live in the North. These tribes rely on the fish of the area to survive, and thus they must walk along the thick ice of the Frozen Sea, boring holes within the surface to fish through. This noise and appearance of sudden heat from above may attract fearsome predators, such as a Tizheruk. One can only imagine how frightening it would be, that you are fishing with friends in this desolate land, when suddenly a massive serpent bursts through the thick ice, taking one of yours in the blink of an eye.

I use these as arctic Basilisk variants with cold-stares which turn victims into ice statues.

I like that, like an Arctic Gorgon! I considered giving these guys ice breath, but it didn't really seem necessary.
