I like to think that it's not the equipment, it's the one using it. Cheap or expensive it'd probably produce the same quality art (though I'd love one of those LCD screen tablets.)
And cheap is good. If it breaks after 6 months I haven't lost a lot. One store in town told me I'd be looking at a minimum of $350 for a tablet, which included the price of freight to send it up from down South. Glad I waited.
