Aaaah yes, drawing OTPs for other people´s birthday is even more fun if it´s your own OTP as well!
I have to admit that I had a bit of trouble deciding what to draw this year, and then my mother and I discussed having siblings - I don´t have any, but she has an older sister and a brother. She was closer to her brother for some reason while she was a teen, and they had a habit of crawling into one another´s bed, just to read together or tell each other stories. Seeing what those two up there went through, I could imagine Franziska enjoying Miles´ presence, maybe after a nightmare, or an especially rough day - reluctantly at first, but giving her the comfort and safety she needs.
As for shipping them - let me repeat what I already said on a different deviation, especially loud for those in the back:
Now I´ve researched high and low, but as far as I know, Miles has been taken in by Manfred von Karma, but never legally adopted (this would have included a name change, and I think even Miles himself never said he was adopted, but "taken in").
Also, consider that Franziska was two years old when they first met; the only time they truly lived together was when they were kids, and Franziska was just about to hit puberty when he left. They were both of age when they met again. So they´re neither related by blood, nor by law. Just putting that out there for those who like to point fingers before doing their research.
I can totally see it work, and as this was drawn for someone who agrees with me, we´re good.
Now as for not liking the pairing - that´s totally fine by me. Ship and let ship. Whatever floats your boat. Respect other people´s shipping preferences if you want yours to be respected as well, and we´ll be fine.

And yeah I've read that up about them too, and seeing how Edgeworth is the ONLY person Franziska will show her emotions to (She broke down crying in front of him in AA2) AND the only person I've seen her once in a while not use the full name, rather just say "Miles" especially if they are alone. (Gumshoe doesn't count as she calls him a insult with 'Scruffy' XD)
Most people I see want to put Edgeworth with Kay but ehhh... I personally cannot see that pairing work, but to each their own. ^^

Most people I know put Edgeworth with Wright, and to be honest I can see where they are coming from, though for me it looks more like those kind of deep friendships that do happen once in a while, and I think that´s beautiful.

Most I know is split down the middle for Wright with pairing him either with Edgeworth or Maya, I can see where it comes from but I agree I see Edgeworth and Wright as a very deep friendship, as I know someone that's very close to my brother like that and they're both not gay, they act more like brothers and that's what I feel Miles and Phoenix are, like brothers. Maya I see more like a little sister to Phoenix and he feels that way because of Mia who was his mentor. I personally ship Phoenix with Iris XD

I...don´t think I d have a ship for Phoenix so far? Maybe because I haven´t finished the trilogy yet (Dual Destinies was my first game, but I spoilered myself enough, so all is good. XD), but we´ll see, we´ll see.

I can see them working too. On top of that, the only times we've ever saw Franziska show more emotions and feelings (*cough*crying*cough*) it was when she was alone with Edgeworth. People like her don't show that side of themselves unless it's with people they feel close to and comfortable with.

Also ich kann mir vorstellen, dass Franziska ihn für die längste Zeit als Bruder angesehen hat, schon alleine weil sie mit ihm groß geworden ist.
Allerdings war er in 90% ihrer Teenagerzeit nicht da, von daher kann es gut sein, dass sich das geändert hat.
Ich bin ziemlich überzeugt davon, dass er versucht hat, sie vor Manfred zu schützen, wie es ein großer Bruder halt tun würde, llerdings liegt das in Miles´Persönlichkeit, wenn man sich ansieht, was er als Kind für Phoenix getan hat.

True that about having more fun drawing someone's OTP if you like them too. Now it seems I've constantly for some odd reason been under the impression that this Ace Attorney thing takes place somewhere bit earlier than 21st century, but that cool electronic clock is calling me out on my mistake. Oh look it's raining outside too it says. That rather adds to the atmosphere, doesn't it? The sound of rainfall on the rooftop. Franziska looks so cute and relaxed here, much more like a sweet lady than a tough one. I am also in love with that wallpaper and I quite like the perspective of this picture, with the viewer looking at them from above. Also, I'm a massive sucker for artwork where books have real words in them. I do that myself and I LOVE when other people do it. Makes me feel like we're all in a secret club.
Also I'm happy to inform you that attempt number 12454( or - well - maybe attempt 5) at the traditional artwork tag is FINALLY looking very nice and there's hope after all.

The first game takes place in 2016 I believe - now keep in mind it got released in 2001 if I´m not mistaken, so they technically do play in the future, especially since every following game is set after the first one.
I guess that impression might come from the clothes they wear. XD The cravat is not necessarily the most futuristic looking garment.

Ahhh. I see. I dislike when they do that in future shows. Just put a label "ten years in the future" and your show will never seem hilarious in a way that the future is the past. Instead when you give the future a date it's almost as if you hope your show not to last until then.

Hah, the good thing about art is that you don´t necessarily need to be a fan of the depicted subject to like the artwork itself.
Also you don´t have to see this as a shipping picture. I read a small ficlet (which I sadly can´t seem to find anymore) in which Franziska stays at Miles´ place for some reason, and she has a nightmare, so he offers to keep her company during the night to comfort her, and they read poems together to calm her down, and eventually she falls asleep in his arm. Totally unoffensive, just siblings taking care for each other. So I guess you could also see it that way. :3
