Hey, nice piece!
Since you requested a critique, ive got a few pointers : P
The contrasts are very dull, and your values are very local while its better to think in big shapes instead like master painters. John Singer Sargent is a good example of having a good value seperation. You also dont seem to be paying attention to colour temperature wich could really make it all more dynamic (checkout Mike Azevedo for a good example). and yeah thats about it. there are some more things you could work on like form and where the light comes from, but i'd focus on the things previously mentioned first

color temperature? You mean everything now has the same kind of temperature, such as cold? Because of all the blue and such? Indeed I never really think of color temperature, did not get much education on that too xD
Yeah crits are good, I will take these into account when creating my next artworks.

nah, more like playing with the hues according to their values. taking fire for example. it tends to go towards a yellow when it gets lighter. and with blues it tends to go to a cyan. color dodge and color burn will do it automatically for you and wil probably help you understand what i mean. mike also uses it a lot.
when you shaded this piece you seemed to only have used a darker version of the local color. wich makes it a bit muddy.
