In the train station (1990's).

...... one Saturday morning many years ago (I was not married yet and I don't even remember the exact year), I took the car and went hunting for images and I arrived by chance in a very small provincial village and here, after I stopped for a coffee, I found myself in the train station where at that moment no trains were passing and there were only four people: the stationmaster, two students waiting for the train and myself (armed with a camera and a photographic bag). Chatting was inevitable and we discovered that all four - in various ways - were interested in photography and history. It was a very pleasant and informative conversation. The stationmaster at that point, given our interest, took us to a nearby siding and showed us a "railway heirloom", the mythical, not to mention ..... infamous, "Cupolone" (dome), that is the freight / livestock wagon used during the war for deportation to concentration camps, a wagon that at the time (90s) could no longer be used for technical reasons (it could not exceed 60 km p.h. while freight convoys could already exceed 100 km ).
Of course, I took some photos of the "Cupolone ". At that point the stationmaster, an exquisite person ... whose race has been lost, paid me homage ... nothing less than ... an old Oil lamp FS belonging to the FS and used for signaling ( ..... destined to be scrapped) which - after having restored it - I still keep with pleasure and a pinch of jealousy, in memory of that episode. Obviously later I never returned to the place, I no longer had any news of the other three protagonists of the story.
