Description This is a quick drawing of Larten Crepsley after his blooding.
Unlike Darren, who was blooded as a child recklessly right away, Larten actually underwent training and served the full time as a Vampire's assistant before being blooded in his twenties.
I wanted to try and get a feel of how he'd look in his time as a young vampire.

And young Mr. Crepsley has a goatee.
Again.
Because. D=

This was the first time I've done anything with a tablet.
A friend of mine lent me a small wacom bamboo, so this was the first thing I tried on gimp.
Not sure what I feel about it so far. xD

I looooove wacom bamboo <3 I got one for my birthday and It's one of the best ever.

And CREPSLEY WITH GOATEE. That was a surprise, never thought of him with one. Nice touch though.
I love it. It came out great and he looks creepy and like a real vampire. Your style is so cool, adds darkness to him. The hair is great too. I always see people make him bald I have no idea why. xD

I just finished the first book yesterday, of his saga, and it was amazing! I hope you get to read it soon! On the cover, you get to.... Nah sort of a spoiler unless you go to the sight and check the covers. X3

Yeah, it's cool so far!
Still feels weird having to look at the screen rather than the tablet itself when you draw! xD

So far, the pen and tablet is like a mouse replacement, but fixed it up a bit in gimp so it registers pressure, but need to find out how to fully integrate it in gimp. :]

Yeah, I love adding a superfluous goatee on Mr C - I do it with pretty much any fanart I do of him. xD

Yeah, I tried to get a few elements of the manga hairdo in there, and thought that since he was so young and full-haired as a boy anyways, him having a full head of hair was fine.
A lot of people draw him bald because in the original novels, he was described as being completely bald except for a small crop of orange hair. :]

Yeah, the first books was fun!
So many times where "Aye" is used though - drove me insane in the end! xD
Please feel free to be as spoilerific as you want - all read and finished! Can't wait for Ocean of Blood!

I know! It took me a while to get used to my tablet, I'm so used to paper but now I'm obsessed with my bamboo! xD

Oooo I didn't think of using Gimp. I should try that now

I forgot that he was supposed to be bald with orange crop on his head, I was used to drawing sketches of him with hair just short all around then slicked back on top, close to his Manga counterpart.
I can't wait to find out through the books why he chose that look. Was it age? *hops* I want the second book NOW!

I started using Aye because of the book. xD I read it so much I was like "Aye Mom!" Earlier and she thought I was reading pirate books or something lol.

What was your favorite part so far? I have too many favorite parts, so I love the whole book. I wish it was longer though.

I hope I get as used to it as you!
I use gimp purely because I can't afford photoshop! xD
But think it's a wonderful program, very simple but effective, and anything digitally done is on gimp ^_^

Yeah, I'm not sure why, but ever since I fanart'd him form a while back, I always stuck a superfluous goatee on him! xD
So I've been doing it ever since! xD
He never has it in the books or manga. :[

I think my favourite part was when Seba was training his two assistants, and Larten got fed up a threw a stick at Seba RAGEANGER and stormed off!
It was so out of character to anything in the DS saga, I laughed out loud!

You'll learn fast with it I'm sure!
Gimp is good, there's also Paint.net and programs you can download for it but its not that good with the tablet. Too slow and choppy... I have no idea if theres others out there like those two. xD

Well maybe he should have a goatee, makes him look tougher than bald and a dollop of hair. xD (Oh how I would tease him! Lovingly ... Dork moment.)

He looks like he would sneak into my room and beat me in my sleep... Then nibble my toes off and run away with underwear on his head! (lol mental image.)

And when he threw a STICK at SEBA, I thought he was going to ram it up his nose. Or beat him. But then again Seba is the shiz, he knows how to beat him without even looking at him. I can't wait to see how crazy he becomes when hes older. With all those hormones and lady-chasin' hes going to do. xDD
