Description A portrait of my son, not posed. He was just standing there, seemingly admiring the incredible beauty of Creation that was laid out in front of him...and so was I.

It seems so much like it is going to be sappy or lame or Hallmark-ish. But it scrapes right by them and becomes truly beautiful. Really amazing.

the subtleness of the tones
the contemplation

the stillness and silence,
the total quietude of this moment
was a beautiful thing to behold

thank you

It is certainly a beautiful photo. Was it manipulated via photoshop or was a lens filter applied? Because I love its effect, it feels so tranquil

I'm sitting alone in a room and I said 'Awww' to myself. That is such a sweet picture.
The name, your cute little son, the sand, the water, the clouds, the sun, everything is perfect.
I really do hope you have it framed in your house. So good. Just how a father should be. I
t really displays the wonderful creations of God.
Love,
Faith J

Well pretty much everything I wanted to say has been said above ... but I had to comment anyway. I have stared at this photo full-size for some time ... it is wonderful Mark. But what makes this photo, IMO, even more special, is your description. This one's a keeper, ya know. I hope you have it framed and sitting where all can see it in your home. Beautiful ...

It's beautiful and I love your description to include that you were looking at your own son as being the marvels of the world. You're a great father I can tell. I love the break in the clouds with the sun shining through and the tone is great. easily!

Mark, this is absolutely awesome This is the type of picture that just lets ones imagination run ever so freely . . . lots of wondering and wandering . . . what was Ben thinking . . . or was he even thinking anything in particular . . . and to see him just looking out into that vast expanse of ocean - how cool is that for such a young guy?? And like marble911, I'd best stop now before I make a fool of myself with rambling . . . Suffice it to say - I LOVE this photo

How could one not admire this amazing beauty and all its smaller and bigger wonders...
Both the sky and the sea seem endless here compared to the boy's small silhouette. It kind of symbolises man's role in the big scheme...we're just a tiny part of something much much bigger.
Beautiful capture...nothing I could ever describe with words so I'll better shut up.

...by far one of the most awe inspiring pieces I've seen on DA or ever in my life. Honestly, Mark. This is so simple and yet I still feel so moved by it. The little sillhouette of your son against the massive spanse of nature and his obvious respect and admiration of it...at a loss for the appropriate words, this is a work of great depth and beauty. Thank you, Mark.
