Let's see.
you're basically saying, that there are situations, where there's no other solution than war, right? What situations these are, if you were to say, and why do you think it's the only solution?
Also, let me go a bit to self-defense, no matter how childish it will sound... Do you really think it's me who's a fool? Because, if you asked me, it's you who's too narrow-minded to see solution other than force and unneeded violence.
The bigger the conflict is, the harder it is to stop, yes. But paradoxically, the bigger the conflict is, the more ways to stop or avoid it exist, because more sides participate, and every side, as somehow related to the others, is able to stop the conflict...Ok, maybe not stop, but slow it down a little bit. So when they cooperate like, i don't know, EU(Let's say EU isn't fake made for the west Europe to prosper better at the cost of middle Europe including my country, so they live happily-ever-after while we suffer for being abused by this fucking union, with no support in case of open conflict) against Russia it's possible to stop the war. Hard Β but possible. I know I sound like a pacifist now (or whatever it's called in english), but seriously. You behave like a eight years old boy, thinking that he already knows everything about politics and war, just because he knows what KaΕasznikov is...

Yes, that is exactly what I am saying.Β
The price for freedom and justice is always paid in blood.
You are a pacifist if you don't the war is ever the answer.

It's better to go to war than allow some bully of a nation trample upon your rights.

Kheelaia In reply to PeteSeeger [2014-08-13 17:44:04 +0000 UTC]
Is always paid in blood, though doesn't have to.
I share a lot of ideas with pacifists, but I'm not one, for example by liking gore and bloody things. But yes, I'm all for world peace.
War is not the answer, Sweet Zalgo... Not always, and I would even say, never is. War is a cruel thing, right? Not only soldiers die. Everybody suffers. War is usual solution. War is hard to avoid, and war literaly solves problems. It's not the right solution though.
Well, I'm not going to end this discussion fast... If you really want to quarrel maybe let's do it through notes? I don't think the artist would like spam like this in comment.

Everything has a price. Nothing is gained that is not suffered for. I want peace, but justice is more important that peace. War solves problems more effectively than any other. Without war, countless tyrants would never have been brought to justice. The only thing that can bring and guarantee peace is the willingness to fight to defend it.

War is hatred.
War is death.
War is sorrow.
War is bad.
War is ruthless.
War is pointless.
War has no good sides.
Still some of us find it beautiful and nostalgic in it's own special way, like an old TV show or a movie.
Art is suffering.
Therefore, can we count war as art?
It doesn't mean we have to accept it, even if it is art, but I'm just asking: Is it art?

Why should art be suffering? Maybe it's sometimes accompanied with it but it certainly doesn't have to.
And who finds war beautiful and nostalgic? Obviously only those who have never experienced war or people who are completely nuts (sorry, I didn't know how to put it in a more gentle way... but think of it, who would call the devastation of human lives and environment "beautiful" or would have nostalgic feelings when remembering all the cruelty of war?)
So my answer would be defenitely no, war is not art. Why should it be?

11Gummerus In reply to klingschohr [2014-04-28 15:17:17 +0000 UTC]
That's not what I mean.
Art is not always suffering.
But sometimes it is.
I'm not saying that war is beautiful like a girl you love, or a pretty flower.
I'm saying that war has a certain kind of beauty in it; a truthful beauty.
War shows us as who we are. We can choose whether or not to kill someone, or get killed by that someone who we allowed to live.
War is the ultimate test.
It reveals us who we are, so therefore it's also partly pure. It washes away the lies that we use in our daily lives.
Now, I'm not saying that war is right. Actually, I'm 100% against it. I'm just saying that it has a certain kind of pureness in it, no matter how bad it is.
I admit that the word "nostalgic" was maybe not the best way for me to express my beliefs, so I'm sorry if that seemed a little "messed up".
