Description I'm assuming Bellatrix is just starting out, just because she looks young.

Dunno who that geezer is. Looks like an ex death eater. Someone who tried to turn traitor? I dunno. The story is lacking on this one I'm afraid.

Ubuntu is all that's on my mind atm.

Thank you so much. Surprised you could see it with my camera haha.

Don't worry, it looks good ^_^
I know this problem, my scanner likes to eat colour and contrast xD And then it gives me ugly stripes in return xD

sugarfr0st In reply to Izayoi7 [2011-10-20 17:04:55 +0000 UTC]

At least you have a scanner! Mine is at home. Makes me very sad. Makes me not want to draw.

But thank you. I've really gotten into pencil colouring lately. Possibly cause it's the only thing I have. :/

Izayoi7 In reply to sugarfr0st [2011-10-20 17:59:41 +0000 UTC]

Yes, but the quality of the scans is so bad, that I prefer to use my sisters camera xD
Time to get a new one I think...
There is nothing wrong with pencil-colouring. I started pencil colouration for the same reasons and with the right technique you can do awesome colourations with them ^.-

Ah well in that case... Perhaps you are right!

No no there's nothing wrong with it, just sometimes I see all the digital art online and think...I really can't compare. Event eh badly drawn stuff looks neater than mine!

Izayoi7 In reply to sugarfr0st [2011-10-21 20:18:09 +0000 UTC]

I know what you mean and sometimes I've got the same thoughts, but then I remind how charming taditional art can be. I love the look of a well drawn pencil-portrait and the structure of aquarell-paintings, that's something you can't achieve with digital mediums...
And I love to hold a finished painting/drawing in my hands, you can't compare this to an artprint I think... Furthermore original artworks are a much nicer gifts than prints ^.-
I don't want to say, that digital art is a bad thing, I think both, traditional Art and digital Art have their pros and cons and I would not presume to express that one is "better" than the other, I just want you to keep some pros of traditional art in mind ^.-

P.S.: I don't think that badly drawn art can compare with yours only because it's digital ^.- there are way too much really really bad digital drawings on the net which look horrible xD

best regards,
Izayoi

Well yeah, when you put it like that. I mean there are some artists who use tradional art, burdge-bug for example. Her work is fantastic and all pencil drawings...
I was exaggerating a little bit. If I really thought that I'd swap over to digital...

I definitely can't deny the feel of having it in front of you. I love that feeling of flicking through an old sketchbook. That's gone with digital.

that's the right attitude!
I didn't knew burdge-bug before, but you're right, her art is really good!

That's exactly how I see it! ^__^

sugarfr0st In reply to Batysia [2011-10-19 21:42:45 +0000 UTC]

I'm not sure. Perhaps she now gets to drag him off to Voldemort? Not sure Bella would just leave him to possibly get help and recover.

Just in a forest somewhere...? That's quite cruel. It's likely.

Batysia In reply to sugarfr0st [2011-10-20 17:35:22 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that might happen too. Not that I sympathy him anything... I do not sympathy. Never.

sugarfr0st In reply to Batysia [2011-10-21 19:23:36 +0000 UTC]

Well whichever is more likely happened haha.

I'm struggling to come up with the background stories, and as such my art is suffering too!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Batysia In reply to sugarfr0st [2011-10-21 19:25:18 +0000 UTC]

Then just draw and I'll write the background stories, lol!

sugarfr0st In reply to Batysia [2011-10-21 19:28:04 +0000 UTC]

Noo I need background stories before I draw. So I can imagine the scene.

sugarfr0st In reply to Batysia [2011-10-21 19:32:55 +0000 UTC]

If there was a particular scene that was eye catching, yeah of course. Done it before on old accounts.

Oh bleghh. I don't like to advertise it.
Started it when I was 14. I'm not ashamed of my old stuff...But it's a bit cringe worthy.

You know when you think you're cool and actually good and all self righteous and whiney.

I was that kid. And I wasn't good at art haha.

Is your old stuff on here?

Batysia In reply to sugarfr0st [2011-10-22 08:07:36 +0000 UTC]

My oldest stuff is from nearly four years ago, in this gallery. Feel free to laugh at this.

Wow same account for that long? Not get bored Or fancy a change?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Batysia In reply to sugarfr0st [2011-10-23 11:26:22 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, same account. I got used to it, I change avatar quite often... plus, tracking my art is quite a help for my doctor. She sees when I'm worse, and when I was better...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sugarfr0st In reply to Batysia [2011-10-23 14:58:56 +0000 UTC]

Oh I'm terrible for changing my avatar. On Gaia I was exactly the same. Kept it the same for ages. Just kidding myself it makes me more recognisable!

I get bored with the names more often than the pictures.

Batysia In reply to sugarfr0st [2011-10-23 15:03:27 +0000 UTC]

Well, my nick here comes from my real name, so I don't get bored with it...

sugarfr0st In reply to Batysia [2011-10-23 15:16:08 +0000 UTC]

Makes a lot of sense. Suppose it's something that fits just right.

Batysia In reply to sugarfr0st [2011-10-23 15:35:37 +0000 UTC]

And I quite like my name, even though it sounds a little ironic now...

sugarfr0st In reply to Batysia [2011-10-23 16:33:10 +0000 UTC]

Best type of name. Irony rules.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Batysia In reply to sugarfr0st [2011-10-23 16:40:28 +0000 UTC]

It's ironic because Beata is Latin for "Happy"...

sugarfr0st In reply to Batysia [2011-10-24 17:13:15 +0000 UTC]

Ohhh I see! Makes more sense now.

Batysia In reply to sugarfr0st [2011-10-24 18:06:54 +0000 UTC]

As I said, it's a very ironic name. Though it was rather meant as a wishing name...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sugarfr0st In reply to Batysia [2011-10-25 06:48:50 +0000 UTC]

Well it's nice to have that little story behind it you can share though.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Batysia In reply to sugarfr0st [2011-10-25 18:51:58 +0000 UTC]

Though every new doctor snickered at my name. They also found it ironic to treat depression in someone whose name means "Happy".

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sugarfr0st In reply to Batysia [2011-10-27 19:16:15 +0000 UTC]

I'm sure they did. Mustn't have seen it before. Depression isn't very common these days.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Batysia In reply to sugarfr0st [2011-10-27 19:38:43 +0000 UTC]

More common than you'd think. But most of the people who suffer from it try to hide the symptoms. If in a class there is one kid who is always smiling, this one is most likely to suffer from depression.

sugarfr0st In reply to Batysia [2011-10-28 13:57:37 +0000 UTC]

Oh of course. Why else would they become sayings?

One thing is that in Poland they say that if you see a nun on your way to school, one lesson will be cancelled; if you see two nuns - two lessons will be cancelled; if you see three nuns - you'll get in trouble...

Just a superstition. Often works though... (mostly the three nuns stage)

sugarfr0st In reply to Batysia [2011-10-31 13:27:08 +0000 UTC]

We don't have nuns in england really...So why is three of them unlucky?? Shouldn't nuns make things good?
