It doesn’t matter if you think Omega still has Zero’s mind or not in this case. cuz he ded, but it’s ok he’ll revive. If X still think Real Zero is in there (Canonically, he’s not. but you can AU the frick out of this to make it MORE angsty) X is going to have to choose between the world or his world. In the end, X being X, he’ll have to choose the former, but he’s going to mourn for his lost love and Copy Zero’s going to be super confused about all of this.

I had a similar idea for an AU/Rewrite where Zero's the copy and Omega's the real Zero, though the circumstances are a little different.
