Wow this new deviant art submission interface is buggy and terrible. It really makes submitting a hassle. third try on this one.This is part of an illustration for a local Rock Concert for the Christian horror extreme punk rock band Grave Robber. I had no idea there was a Christian band which did the skull and makeup horror schtick during their concerts. I jumped at the chance to do this illustration. I think a lot of folks in my sleepy small town will be a little unnerved once this poster starts advertising the show for the week of Christmas.

Wow Steve that's awesome!! Looks great! Your enthusiasm shines through this piece, I can tell just by looking at it you had fun drawing it. And it's for a Christian horror punk band? I've never heard of them, I should look them up. Some of my comic book artist friends out West are really into the band Demon Hunter, another hardcore Christian band. A little too heavy metal sounding for me (you know I prefer industrial electronic) but a lot of Christian comic artists seem to love Demon Hunter. I'll have to check out Grave Robber.

Yeah, I really had fun doing this piece and trying some Wrightson Frankenstein-era style inking lines and shading.

Yeah, they have a Misfits feel to them, not what I listen to really any more, but they have some decent horror sampling sound samples. Check out their Youtube video for "Altered States." Demon Hunter is pretty hardcore. I listen to mostly hip hop and movie soundtracks with old school alternative bands mixed in.
