Yay! I did some Manga stylee! Mostly based on Clamp style (cardcaptors) because it looks so lush. I never really bother with Japanese style drawings, but I'm really pleased with how this turned out
I love pink hair! I really wanted to draw a character with pink hair and here's the result. She so funky with her Disco Skates and fairy wings. Must try doing some more characters in this style. Took 6 straight hours! Please full view- it looks better.

Question, however.. (Coloring looks great, btw!), do you use layer masks?

Yeah, I spent about 4 hours drawing the bloomin' thing. Is that the same as multiplying a layer? working on a I used the multiply tool to create shadow in this picture. I worked straight on top of the scanned image so there were only two layers being used; colour and shadow.

Ah, no, no.
A layer mask is an area of black and white attatched to a layer.
Black areas on the mask make that part of the layer invisable.
White areas are fully visable. *nods* Anything inbetween is semi-transparent, occording to how light/dark it is. Masks can be created from the layers menu on adobe photoshop.
It saves a lot of time, if you use masks, because then you don't need to worry about going out of the lines.
I'm sure I could dredge up a tutorial on them, if you'd like.

I love the cleanness of the lines. You hand ink this or in Illustrator? And kinda would be amusing to show her moving along, falppin them wings, makin her blade fast. hehe

Hand inked. Much more emotion in hand inked lines and you have much more control. Yeah, That'd be so cool. She'd set the floor on fire.

I agree, though i am not the best (love my Microns though), hand inking is much better. I know people who only draw on a tablet, then ink on the tablet...then color on the tablet. I like hand drawn, then hand inked...only way to go.

If you want CLAMP manga, definitely start with Cardcaptor Sakura (obviously). But they've done a load of other great stuff that you might like too. Chobits and Wish are great. And then there's XXX-holic and Tsubasa as well. All great stuff

I had Barbie skates that were similar (I scraped off the Barbie logo cos I hated dolls as a child). They had cool purple wheels too. Ha! Wait till you see me ice skating at the Devmeet. I'm gonna have such a black n' blu ass!
