Description I have been asked many times about what the Ares would look like if it had a pod like that of the Titan so here is a quick idea of a Ares class variant.Β  Personally I like it without the weapons pod, but here it is none the less.

I think a weapon pod could work on it, but not that design of a pod.Β  Maybe something more reminiscent of the warp nacell pylons, just vertical.

What if it was on a single pylon and raked back about 30 degrees? Β That would probably make it look more TMP era, but aesthetically speaking it might improve the lines.

Nice idea for the pod but have to agree with you that it looks much better without even so I guess it does work as a variant, like you said
