I feel as if I recognize the pose of the horse on the hill towards the background.. oh, I'm such a loser I can't remember the name of the painting, but it's an indian brave on the edge of a cliff, slumped over somewhat, and his horse is somewhat in the same pose as the one you have here.. except I think it's facing the other way..
The detail in the background is absolutely amazing.. awesome job!

Not much to crit as i have really not much experience with natural media, but perhaps a little atmospheric perspective is needed for the mountain with the figure, since the light seems cast from a different lightsourcing (you have shade next to the sunset). but it is no biggy, its really nicely composed, and as for medium refreshing to look at!.
