Hey!, digging the work...I was wondering if there is any chance of you doing some work for a pretty big project Iβm doing known as βProject GLβ. Said project involves me mock casting, budgeting, scoring, writing a pilot, etcβ¦ for a CW Green Lantern TV show that I then plan on pitching to the network (I do have a way to get it to the execs of Arrow/The Flash)β¦if you can/will help just shoot me a message at thearrowverse@gmail.com with the subject line βProject GLβ, and then a link to your dev. art! (or the username).Β
Also if you would be interested in doing general pieces for my Facebook page (43k and growing) that would be awesome!!!
Β Thanks! -Arrowverse

I am a huge fan of Ed, Edd n Eddy, it inspired me to draw more expressions. and to be less stiff with my drawings. I hope to get my own cartoon on tv one day....

Dayum, nicely done!
So is this sort of the industry standard in terms of how detailed storyboards are for cartoons?

Are you working at Studio B/DHX right now? A lot of George of the Jungle and EEnE people are apparently there now. Great stuff. I can tell how funny each scene would be on screen just from these boards. If I were an animator on this episode, I would not be confused about what to do.

I worked at the B a few years back, but I'm not there now. I've been working on League Of Super Evil the last few years.

WOW! I am SO glad that I came across this, this storyboard is AWESOME~ I LOVED this episode, Ed, Edd, and Eddy is my FAVORITE cartoon, no other competes with it! C: Really, this is absolutely spectacular, even when I read the storyboards I still laugh, the expressions are priceless, you artists at AKA are amazing!~ EEnE is the reason why I started to draw, it just inspires me SO much! I want to be a storyboard artist JUST because of that particular show, you have no idea how much I envy you guys :'D LOL, I hope I'm not weirding you out... I'm just another crazed fan, thats all XD
Oh and if you can, do you think maybe you could explain to me how I could ever get into storyboarding? You see, ever since I was little, I've always wanted to start my OWN cartoon show, (the cartoons today stink :C) but I just don't really know how... I already have a story and the characters all drawn out for it, but as a storyboard artist, do you think I would EVER have a chance at getting my cartoon on television? Maybe, you could possibly tell me... how I could get into the cartoonist field?
Thank you for posting this, I'll probably use it a few times for my own creations!

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy the show.
The best way to get into storyboarding is to get your diploma from an animation school then apply for a job as a storyboard revisionist. That's the best way to learn on the job.
As far as getting your own show? That's mostly luck, frankly. I won't get into all the reasons why it's so hard to get good cartoons made. There's plenty of opinion online if you look for it. Your best bet, in my opinion, is to hone your skills and then produce your own short films. If you have a computer, you can do most of the work yourself. Editing, sound and animation software are available off the shelf. You can even distribute for free through Youtube and other sites. If you really want to make cartoons, all you need to do is do it.

So where do the cels get shipped off to for coloring and final animation? Does AKA do it themselves?

Animation school is a good idea. I'm not sure you'd be able to find a job in animation without a diploma.
Getting into story boarding is tough. Schools tend to teach feature storyboards, because obviously it's a quick step from animation school to the big time. For those of us who inhabit the real world, feature boards and TV boards are like night and day. What you need to do is get a job as a storyboard revisionist. That's where you learn the job and you can eventually move up to boarding on your own.
Good luck!

Well, so far I've got an... AS (or is it an AA) in Fine Arts, but that's it, I'm currently looking for a good art school to go to. There don't seem to be any good art based ones that I could afford though sadly...
Hmm, interesting, well thanks! I will try to keep this information in mind and try my best! Thank you very much for the response!
