Description Well...this very large drawing took much longer than it should have. It is rewarding to finally finish it though. It was certainly a challenge, I had to use numerous photo referneces and put them together in a convincing way. It is good to get back to graphite Thanks go out to many of you: thanks Donald for taking pics, thanks Cindy for the motivation, thanks to each and every single one of you watchers who visit and comment. It is very much appreciated everyone, thank you, it means a lot

Can you think back to a particualr moment or event that has steered you down a certian path in life? I can. I remember one or two very particular moments in my life where I was like "I am going to be an artist." Thsoe events have changed my life, hopefully for the better. That is what this piece is about, that moment in time which becomes etched into your memories, that moment in time which has brought you where you are today, wherever that may be. In her case she becomes an amazing musical performer, and this is where it began. This is the moment that started it all. Enjoy.

Dedicated to for getting my 1500th pageview. Incidently she also plays violin! (that is why it was too perfect Duckies )

I play flute, and I remember that moment. "I am going to be a teacher" or "I am going to be a performer". And I have worked so hard to be where I am musically. You have definately achieved being an outstanding artist. The shading in this is phenominal. I recently got back from a competition in orchestra, and the concert mistress and the principle celloist mirrored the emotion portrayed in this picture. That silence before the applause right after the conductor cuts off, is priceless.
This is amazing.

You're amazing with graphite. I really love this, the way her hair flows, and how perfectly you've drawn the hairline. The face is amazingly real, and I love the expression on her face.

The shadowing is... great. This is just really awesome.

I'm really impressed with all of the different rich tones you've created. She looks so deeply immersed in her music. I used to play violin as well, so I like this a lot. Her face is really beautiful, I really love the way the pallette sticks out so wonderfully. The movement around her is almost as if the music were disrupting the air somehow.

Great work.

Thank you, I am glad you like this

Yeah, I wanted it to look like that the space around her was being disrupted and fractured. Are you familiar with the futurists at all? Well anyway they did that same thing in their work, they dealt a lot with fractured space and time. This was totally inspired by them...to bad the futurist movement came to a sudden almost a century ago Hmmmm, maybe I can start it up again...

Aaron! AMAZING work! I think the time invested was certainly worth it. Very solid comp for having used several references. The shading in this is incredible... her face, her hand, her hair. Her hair... beautiful motion... it looks like it's dancing with her as she plays. Inspirational!

Oh my, Aaron! This is beautiful! I really mean it. I can home after my Long, long violin recital and I was just so pleasantly amazed. I truly do think this is one of your best works to date. I just adora the flow and movement of this piece... Oh, and you did a fabulous job on the violin and the bow. Very stylized! Thank you so much, buddy! This makes me think I should try for my dedications in the future. I gotcha on the 'too perfect' comment. It ALL makes sense now!
