Okay these are rough concepts of a species I'm attempting to come up with. I will include some info now but when I make a proper ref sheet for them youll get a more detailed description on everything

The newborns are tiny, like kitten tiny, despite their huge adult size. Their teeth on both their sets of jaws are tiny and actually nubby (not tiny razor sharp teeth. they are smooth and make more damage crunching at this stage. they can nibble on you without it hurting unless they pinch your skin. Their crests are still short at this stage and dont glow until they reach the one yeah mark.

the adults are rather big, five feet from head to toe, not counting their crest. crests can come in all sizes, the purest bred JawThroats have the largest crests, however those which were bred for fighting commonly have shorter crests and bigger poison sacs

There are three poison sacs on each side of the ribs on a JawThroat. these actually are not weakness points. there is a hard translucent like bone substance that covers over the sacs, a substance which doesnt bleed. those with stronger protection and bigger sacs often have a brighter glow, a signal to possible mates of their good traits to be passed down.

Both the Crests and sacs are used for attracting partners. for crests it is how elaborate the pattern is, not how long they are. and for sacs it is how brightly they glow.
It is not uncommon for JawThroats to mate for life however it is also not uncommon for one male lockjaw to accumulate a "harem" of females whom he will mate with.

Fights among JawThroats for females are often more of a game of intimidation than fighting. If a fight does break out however they are never fatal.

ALL JAWTHROATS HAVE FORKED TONGUES. none have the other generic spiral tongue or a normal rounded tongue.

the hind legs are smooth and metallic like, as are the tails. The tails are like that of a "dragon" but do not have scales nor do they ever have any fur tufts on them ANYWHERE.
