Description
This day, like other ones, was quite chill. Lithin went to the center of the small town to enjoy a fresh breeze, while his friend was probably alone at the library. While he was wandering in his own thoughts, a word caught his attention; "party". Attentive, he looked at two Wyngrew talking together about what seemed a party in the Cranny, the incoming house of Wynsiph. Everybody was welcome at this event, Cranny resident or not, even Wynglings. Interested by these words, a sudden idea quickly came into his mind. What if, with his friend, they went at the party? It could help Silver to be more sociable, which is definitely something missing in them. Nothing wrong could happen, in his optimist mind were only fun and joy, a better image of the world where Silver would no longer be a cold hearted Wyngling and where they were only happy and sociable. This perfect idea couldn't stop running in his mind during his walk, letting his free imagination write the happy story of the bright future he wanted.
Back to the Nook, he greeted the one who educated him before heading for his comfort place, where silence and knowledge ruled. It didn't take him long to find the grey and red Wyngling among the forest of books. He slightly smiled with his eyes before quietly walking toward them. Silver raised their ears on their head the moment they heard the soft and recognizable footstep of their companion. They slowly closed the big book they were reading and rolled their eyes to the coming Wyngling.
"Hello Silver, I'm back..." He gently said, while looking at his friend. Silver looked at him back with their usual dead and inexpressive face, answering with a little growl. Lithin tried his best to hide a small sigh; he never saw Silver happy from the day they met. He would really like to see them smiling for once, and actually enjoying life. But it's okay, with his idea, things are going to change. He sat down next to Silver, keeping his soft smile. "I heard something interesting during my walk... Do you know the Cranny ? A party is going to take place this evening... Everyone is invited, even Nooklings like us...! We could try, couldn't we ?"
While he was talking, Silver rolled their eyes. Again, their companion was trying to move them from their comfort zone. They sighted, and looked away, at their closed book, on which we could read the title "Art of traveling".
"I'm not interested." They growled. "You can go alone."
The ears of the Finn dropped. He knew what their answer would be, but he kept hoping that they'll eventually change one day. But Silver doesn't want to change.
"I see..." He said, with disappointment in his voice. His eyes looked at the ground, before going back on the silver being. "I won't go if you don't go."
"Nice." His discussion partner answered with a boring and monotone voice. They didn't looked back at Lithin. An awkward silence began to take place, and after a moment, Silver standed up, taking their book in their small paws to put it back to its place. Lithin looked at them, before returning to his thoughts. He needed to find something, but what could make Silver happy ? Nothing seemed to work, neither games, or food, nothing, like Silver was a standing wall that resisted to all the tentatives Lithin has done to break it.
"Listen Lithin, I need you." The Finn came out of his thoughts to raise his head back to the words of the Wyngling.
"You need me?" He was confused about the words of his friend, and softly tilted his head aside. The grey Wyngling silently walked to him, with a serious look in their eyes.
"Exactly. We're going to run away from this hell."
The Finn took a surprised expression, at least, as surprised as he can be.
"I hate this place, I hate everything here." The grey Wyngling immediately continued, not letting the yellow Finn answer. Their voice was calm, so nobody could hear them, and they were walking around Lithin while elaborating their plan. "It's been a long time since I've thought about it. I know I cannot run away and live by myself only, so it kills me to say it, but I need you. You're a Finn, you know magic, you can breathe underwater, you can fish... With you, I'm sure we can survive." They stopped to walk just in front of the shocked Finn, looking at him deeply in his eyes. "Your party story is very interesting. Wynglings are going to go to the party, Alma will surely be busy with them. We're going to use this opportunity to flee this night."
"Wait!" The yellow Wyngling immediately standed up, stunned by the plan. "You want to run awa-?!"
"SHHT!" The grey Wyngling growled at him, standing close to his friend. "Don't scream like an idiot!"
The Finn calmed down, trying to hide his surprise and to stay calm. "But... Why ? I don't understand, there's nothing wrong, Alma is here for us, we have food, gam-"
"That's the problem." Silver interrupted him. Their voice was filled with rage, but they kept it low. "It's always the same thing; we wake up, everyone is screaming and jiggling, idiots are everywhere, school is boring as flick, and thus, everyday. It's. Always. The same. Thing. I can't stand it anymore, I'm going to be crazy. I can't be happy in this place. Can you understand it ?"
So, that was it. The yellow Wyngling looked desperately at Silver. They heard about the past of Silver, where their life was simpler, where everyday was a new one, with new discoveries, new adventures. The Nook looked like chains to them, they can't feel happy in this place, that's what they said. Lithin only wanted them to be happy, and the only way to do so was to accept it, to leave the Nook, Alma, his friends, and everything behind. He loved this place, but Silver hated it. And Lithin is too kind to let Silver run away and survive alone. After a moment, he raised his head back and looked at them, with what is supposed to be a determined look.
"I... I'll follow you."
