I don't own any system that can lay MvC3, but I was reminded of it and decided to type in "mvc3" and got this.
from what I've seen in advertisements, the fighters do do have a distinct inky style put to them.
So this incarnation of Sonic in that game makes him extra elongated and freaky. But It wouldn't be Marvel vs. Capcom then. it would be just about any fandom vs Capcom, Capcom vs. just about any fandom.
I can't for the life of me understand fighting games outside the SmashBros formula and thankfully only knows someone who owns it as opposed to owning it myself!
But the gritty close-quarters crossover fighting sounds appealling.
