I've been working on drawing birds since I was about 10 or so, but I've just recently been trying to expand into drawing other things

haha when I started drawing things seriously (back in junior high, then later in high school) I seemed to have a natural affinity for birds. Soon that became dragons about 4-5 years ago. I really like drawing human gestures but I have to rework that, haha it's been a long while (about a 5-6 year span) that I haven't done it.

Yeah, even over the past year since I've joined deviantart, i can see how much my art has changed, i almost wish I kept my very old art in my gallery, so I could see how far I've come, but at the same time I'm glad its not there so no one can see, well what I think, is some complete monstrosities XD
I've always enjoyed drawing birds, I was always sort of drawn (no pun intended) to them. I'm working on human portraits, but birds are always my fallback when I have a serious case of art block

There's just something about birds, they have natural grace, attitude, tenderness about them. They're very expressive in their own way and are just plain beautiful. I can totally understand when you say you're "drawn" to them. haha I usually always have a bird to draw, and haha I can't leave them out of my stories either. I've noticed that at least in every story I've been writing (Original stories anyway) there is at least one character that has a bird. In my story Amulet's Wish many characters have birds they use for hunting. There's one that has a pheonix and My character Zephon has a gryphon friend.

A bird can be fierce, beautiful, and funny and full or personality all at the same time 
If there was any creature I could be, I'd be a phoenix
But ordinary birds are great too, I have a soft spot for crows, pigeons, and seagulls.

Raven's are my most favorite of the crafty birds. My favorite bird of all is a Gryfalcon though (I'm sure I already said that). Swans are graceful and very awe inspiring. I love phoenixes and gryphons as well. I don't know which one I'd rather be, haha being fiery would be awesome though.
