Hmm last time someone hugged me I squeezed so hard it hurt so they wouldn't do it again, though I was drunk so normally I would just use words. Last time someone asked if I wanted a hug while she was leaving (after giving goodbye higs to everyone else) I said "No thanks! I'd... have to get up." because I was at the comp. My roommate (the one who hugged me) added "Yeah, you know how it is." and she laughed.
Sigh
but it is what it is.

I never used that tactic. If you really just don't care what they think, you could say "I'm aroused." and they'll uncomfortably let go.
I feel bad sometimes too, because some people are really touchy and they take it personally.
One time this guy hugged me and his hand dipped too low on my back and I automatically punched him hard in the arm without thinking. I immediately rubbed his arm and almost started crying because I felt bad.
I've hit Melissa a few times too just because her hands accidently touched my leg or something. I don't really think about it. It just happens, but I guess it's better than me just bursting out into tears anymore.

Aw, dang. That sounds a little embarrassing, but yeah, must be better than panicking! My drunk self just did that automatically. I'm not very reactive normally.
Oh well, if it can't be helped.
