Just used my tablet and the brush tool. I made a brush by painting a speckly stripey sort of circle shape in a tiny new canvas and... it was a while ago, but I think I went to Edit>Define Brush or something like that. Then I went in and tweaked the settings so it'd rotate with my pen movements.

Hrm? What file type did you save it as? If it's a .psd, then dA will ask for a preview image. I'd recommend you save the image as a .png or .jpg (saving it as high quality), that way the picture will still be good quality and dA will upload it normally.

Well, you go to file, then Save As, and then there's a drop-down menu at the bottom of the window that comes up. All you have to do is choose .jpg or .png from it (I prefer .png), then save.

Yep! You draw whatever brush shape you want, and go to edit>Define brush. And then once it's a brush, you can mess with the settings in the brushes tab.

Chester seems almost sane here. Good for him. However I am apparently not very good at subtlety because I can't tell what you did to the brush to make it do that. Any hints?

Well, in Photoshop I first got a circular marquee tool and filled in a circle, then drew a bunch of white lines through it of varying width. Then I made it a brush, and messed with the brush settings to make it respond to width and opacity based on pen pressure, and to follow the direction of the pen wherever you moved it, so it'd be like a paintbrush kinda. XD Blah, hope I explained it well enough. ;;
