Commissioning an artist is like hiring them to create something for you 
It's kind of like ordering something that hasn't been created yet. So you're getting the artist to make something new, specially for you 
Often people will commission drawings or what not, but it's pretty much limitless since there are so many types of artists/crafters out there

Yea it was just to learn and you know just have them lol and your welcome!!! I would have felt bad "making them behind your back." and do you use this technique for like any other doll? Like the base is the body of course haha and then just u know modify it to fit that character?

And not sure I totally get what you mean, but yep L is similar to Hikaru and Kaoru, and so are the others (Shana, Edward Elric, etc.) It's how I chibi-fy characters
