Description
Finally got to redesign this character and I think it turned out great!

This is Hel, the ancient immortal ruler of Helheim, realm of the dead. When Loki’s children got sick and were on the verge of death, they and Angrboda were forced to transfer their souls into other forms (like their mother did). While her sibling gained animal forms, Hel had her soul transferred to her own mother’s decayed corpse (yeah, it was a bit messed up). Afterwords, she kinda lost her marbles and nearly destroyed Asgard after escaping to there. The Æsir gods managed to stop her, planning to kill right her then and there. But, thanks to the begging of the Jotun goddess, they instead banished her to Helheim to control the Draugr. After centuries passed, the undead Jotun managed to mellow out, having come to peace with what had happened (though her relationship with Loki hasn’t improved).

She is dedicated to her duty as Helheim’s ruler. She remains neutral in the conflict but does play a part in helping Freya overcome her own demons. She appoints Freya to become the new ruler of Hel after she decides to retire and reconnect with her strange family. She is calm, cold, and beautifully terrifying all at once.

The reason behind this redesign was that the last drawing I did looked proportionally weird, and less developed than the others. So, I decided to focus my direction on her face for illustrating better details to make her stand out.
