Nice! I imagine her mom as blond, too, but with brown eyes. Since Maurice has green eyes and Belle hazel, Brown+Green=Hazel eyes.

Oh, Belle's mother is beautiful--she looks a bit like a dirty blonde Aurora. I love the pink bow in her hair. I also love how little Belle is absolutely engrossed in the story.

It's so weird, because I've been writing a reworking of the Beauty and the Beast story as a poem focusing on the Enchantress who I decided was Belle's mother's older sister...and this is how I pictured Belle's mom to look...

This series is going to be amazing, I know it.
So far, with these two pieces it is already brilliant.
I was surprised to see the design of the mother actually; Not that I dislike it, I love it - I just didn't expect this; albeit to be fair, I had no visuals whatsoever, myself. She does have a slight resemblance to Aurora.
The entire setup is lovely; I simply adore that you had little Belle listening to fairy-tales, told by her mother, because darn it, it would be SO in character. The warmth that radiates from this piece is uncanny, your choice of colours and textures highly professional and it really raises this piece to the next level.
And then there's the design; I simply love your style and the flow in your pieces and this is just another perfect example on just how good you are!

This is a lovely series you have so far. We are often defined by the love of our parents for with out them we would not be who we are. They guided us in the ways of the world, and incuiraged us to find our deepest ideas and bealeafs. Whenever we hear stories of families that are a little smaller than our own we tend not to think about the people who we notice are missing, but the do exist and you took the time to give recognition to the queens that came before the princess's.

Gorgeous! What was your inspiration for Belle's mother; the easiest idea would have been to make her a dark-haired woman, so I am intrigued by your coloring choices. Belle's expression is adorable!

For some reason I imagine Maurice as having dark hair. Growing up, all my siblings and I had white blonde hair that darkened over the years
