i really had no intention of just drawing the characters exactly like in the movie. i had to make them look like the movie chacters, but in my own visual language.

oh, i know you didn't. i'm just saying that you picked two of my least favorite illustrators i know of. i'm also not saying that these guys lack skill, because they are very fucking good at what they do. however, i would never in a billion years let myself be influenced by thier artwork. i'd literally shoot myself in the neck then follow their lead.

I didn't know that you disliked them. Their styles are pretty quirky and that makes it easier to like or dislike. For me it depends on the project.

my dilike of their work has little to do with the quirkiness of the artwork.
however, no one is as great as Ron Lim. the shadow that the library of his work casts can consume this entire industry. he is truly a god among comic book artists. you can see how dynamic his stortelling is and how he has gotten better every year of his career. I don't even know how other people get work in this industry while he's able to still hold a pencil. i have a little shrine in my office of him that i pray to 3 times a day for him to grace me with even a molecule of his talent and skill set. i hear he's a beautiful man too! he also saves children from house fires almost every day. bow your head to Ron Lim!

Ron Lim has covered for George Perez on the Infinity Gauntlet which I think he should have done from the beginning. He is indeed a gre... wait, did you say you have a shrine? Really? So is he like the Chuck Norris of comics? If he is then I think I have a new god.
